Fancy Bourbon Punch

Looking for a refreshing summer cocktail to serve at your next porch party or cook out? If you’re a fan of bourbon and champagne, this is the perfect drink for you! With citrus undertones and a little bit of bubbly, this Fancy Bourbon Punch is fresh and light while still packing the punch of bourbon. I made this punch last time we were at the beach after a full day in the sun for the adults to enjoy before dinner, and as evidenced by the empty pitcher, it was enjoyed by all!

Ingredients:

1 liter Makers Mark® Bourbon

1 cup sugar

Peels of 3 lemons and 1 orange

Juice of the peeled fruit

1 liter of strong tea

250 ml Champagne

Freshly ground nutmeg

Instructions:

Combine sugar and peels in the bottom of a punch bowl or pitcher. Muddle together until sugar starts to clump together. Let sit for 2 hours.

Brew tea for 30 minutes. Remove tea bags and let cool. Add the juice of the peeled fruit, tea and bourbon and stir. Top with champagne just before serving and gently stir.

Top with freshly ground nutmeg. If you cannot find a whole nutmeg to freshly grind, do not use ground nutmeg (it will turn to paste). Instead, top with cut rounds of oranges and lemons for garnish.
